What Do I Do When the Tire Pressure Light Comes On?

If your tire pressure light comes on and stays on when you're driving, it means that your tires are not properly inflated. Pull into a gas station and find an air pump as soon as you can, or use your own air compressor to ensure that your tires are inflated to the right PSI.

What's the Correct Tire Pressure?

The correct pressure is usually located on the inside of the driver's side door. If it's not there, check your manual.

When Do I Need to Replace my Tires?

It's all about the tread depth. Once it's too shallow, you need new tires. Your mechanic can check for you, or you can do the penny test. Put a penny upside down in your tread, and if you can see Abraham Lincoln's entire head, you're in need of new tires.

How Can I Make my Tires Last Longer?

Proper tire care can ensure that your tires wear down evenly and don't need to be replaced sooner than expected. That means visiting our Volvo service center in Silver Spring when you need tire rotations, tire balancing, and wheel alignments.

Should I Service my Tires for the Winter?

Yes. The winter can be rough on your tires and it's also the season where you need them the most. You want to be sure that your tires are still offering the traction that you need to safely deal with snow and slick road conditions. A service appointment before the winter weather really sets in is always advisable.

Why Does my Tire Pressure go Down in Winter?

Cold temperatures can cause your tire pressure to decline. Always check your pressure on especially cold days, especially if a big drive is ahead of you.
