Safety Coach App
With the new Safety Coach app, Volvo drivers can develop safer driving habits. The recently released app delivers real-time driving insights and tips directly to your infotainment screen and to the Volvo Cars mobile app. It provides details about your daily driving behavior, including your acceleration, braking, and cornering. Each driver will also get their own personal Safety Coach score, which encourages drivers to improve their driving habits.
Utilizing the App
If you drive a 2020 model year or newer, you will soon be able to download the in-car app in your Volvo vehicle. The app has already been released in Sweden and Norway. An official release in the United States and other European markets will follow, although a date hasn’t been announced. This rollout is also expected to have insurance-related offers.
New Connected Safety Features
Drivers of the Volvo EX60 and Volvo EX90 will also benefit from updates to the Volvo Connected Safety technologies. The features already provide alerts to drivers about upcoming hazards, such as the Slippery Road Alert and Hazard Light Alert. The update now includes additional alerts, such as:
- Large Animal Alert – a large animal is on or near the road ahead
- Vulnerable Road User Alert – pedestrians and cyclists are near
- Roadwork Alert – you're approaching roadwork
- Accident Ahead Alert – you're approaching an accident
