With exciting new models like the Volvo EX30 and Volvo EX90 on the horizon, we’re also preparing for new forward-thinking technology. A new infotainment system is coming to several recent Volvo cars, not just brand-new ones. Volvo Cars Silver Spring gives you an inside look.
New Infotainment System Overview
Volvo drivers will get a new-generation user experience that makes connecting to navigation, entertainment, and other features easier than ever before. Now, your most-used apps, such as maps, phone, and media, will be on the home screen, so they’re always easy to access. That way, if you’re using Google Maps, for example, you don’t have to navigate away from it to make a call, everything is on one main layout.
Models Included
The new generation user experience will be part of the new all-electric models, the Volvo EX30 and Volvo EX90, and will also be included in the Volvo XC90. The technology will also be accessible to millions of current Volvo owners worldwide with a simple over-the-air software update. The new-generation user experience can be adapted and scaled for many different screen shapes and sizes, so most 2020 and newer models are compatible.
New-Generation User Experience Release
The release is anticipated for 2025. The plan is to gradually roll out the upgrade throughout the year. This release is part of Volvo’s strategy to continuously improve Volvo vehicles with regular over-the-air software updates, so we aren’t just keeping up with trends, we’re creating them.
