You could decide to consider both mileage and age. The average driver puts around 12,000 to 15,000 miles on their car each year. That means that you can actually take the age of the car and figure out if this is a vehicle that was driven around an average amount. A five-year-old used car that has around 60,000 miles on the odometer could be in that “sweet spot” and have more good mileage on it than bad.
Good Mileage vs Bad Mileage
Driving on the highway at higher speeds is generally considered good mileage. Driving slowly in stop-and-go situations is usually considered bad mileage. This is because the latter type of driving can be rougher on a car, causing more wear and tear than highway driving would. You want a car that has more good mileage on it than bad.

Another important factor is the features offered by a used car. If you're looking at two models with similar mileage and one of them is newer, you should see if that newer model offers more safety features.
