The 2018 Volvo V90 model’s four trims are delineated by powertrain. The 2018 Volvo V90 R-Design T5 and 2018 Volvo V90 Inscription T5 are equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged 4C engine rated at 250hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, and paired with front-wheel drive (FWD) and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2018 Volvo V90 R-Design T6 and 2018 Volvo V90 Inscription T6 upgrade to a 2.0L turbocharged and supercharged 4C engine. This power plant, paired with the eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive (AWD), outputs 316hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque.
Aside from their different engines, all four trims share many standard features, all of which are top-of-the-line. A panoramic sunroof, navigation, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist are all included, and there’s also an available Convenience package with heated washer nozzles, a top-down camera system, automated parking, and more. The R-Design and Inscription trims do differ a bit in terms of philosophy, in that the Inscription trims are more comfort/convenience-oriented and the R-Design trims are more performance-focused. For example, whereas the 2018 Volvo V90 Inscription T5 offers heated/ventilated comfort seats and leather upholstery, the 2018 Volvo V90 R-Design T5 gets sport seats and a unique sport suspension calibration.
