The 2016 Volvo XC90 is the SUV's first all-inclusive redesign since 2003. The more assertive styling, with its larger grille, aggressive lower air intakes and slimmer headlights, manages to be modern without losing its identity as a Volvo.


PERFORMANCE
The 2016 XC90 gets Volvo's new four-cylinder engine that is both supercharged and turbocharged that produces 316 hp, 295 pound-feet of torque and an eight-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. Standard all-wheel drive and goes from zero to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds. An estimated 25 MPG highway and 20 MPG city as well.

Control - A complete graphical driver display with steering wheel and voice commands. Simply speak to get directions, change music, make a phone call, or send a text.

Volvo On Call - The Volvo On Call app on your smartphone can help you to start your car remotely and warm/cool the inside, get roadside assistance, and lock/unlock doors.

The 2016 Volvo XC90 interior cabin is furnished beautifully in a range of high-quality materials which include a few different kinds of genuine wood and real carbon fiber sharpen things up. The controls, including the large (9-inch) vertical multifunction touchscreen, are laid out in a crisp, well-thought method and allows for superior viewing of maps and menu structures.

INTERIOR
With the finest materials of soft leather, and grainy wood, every detail works in balance. The all-new XC90 seats 7 passengers. Ventilated front seats inspired by the human form with massage functions and four-way electric lumbar support.

Second-row seating is comfortable with an additional 2.4 inches of legroom and a third row with more room than the previous XC90. The available child booster seat is built into the center section of the 40/20/40-split second-row can be moved forward to put its occupant within easy reach of parents.

The XC90 has a maximum capacity of 85.7 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the second- and third-row seats down. With all the seats up, 15.8 cubic feet is available behind the third row. Both formats provide capacity that's at the top of the class. A "hands-free" feature is included with the standard power tailgate wherein you only need to wave your foot under the rear bumper to open the liftgate.


SAFETY
Imminent frontal collision detection with automatic braking comes standard showcasing Volvo's latest safety advancements. And a new feature that applies brakes when the driver attempts to turn in front of an oncoming car, such as at an intersection. Another subsystem will tighten seatbelts and use shock-absorbing seat cushions if the XC90 were to run off the road, which reduces potential spinal injuries.

Other options include a surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, and a child booster seat built into the center position of the second row.
